Chinese Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine Alliance (CAHMA)
The Chinese Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine Alliance UK (CAHMA) is a special group of qualified acupuncturists and herbal practitioners who practice and provide a high standard health care services for the people in the UK.
Members of CAHMA are professional traditional acupuncturists who have normally completed a 3,600 hours, degree level training, in line with the recommendations of the World Health Organisation. They already have, or commit to, post graduate learning and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in the areas of TCM practice. They are often called TCM practitioners who gained sufficient proper training on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in China or in the UK and provide relevant therapies including acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Tuina therapeutic message, Cupping and Moxibustion, etc.
Practitioners to be accepted as members of CAHMA all need to submit certificates of university degree or diploma of the relevant training, and evidence of continuous and good conduct practice in TCM, or a proof of previous membership of equivalent professional organizations in the UK.
CAHMA is also a Full Member of the British Acupuncture Federation and as such meets and sits regularly on the board. BAF members fully support BAF ethics and safe codes of practice as well as working on projects in the UK and across the world to forward and expand the research, knowledge, and growth of acupuncture.

- To ensure patients can receive professional treatments
- To promote Chinese acupuncture and herbal medicine to the general public via our web presence through social media etc.
Our Criteria
